Utilizing the art of storytelling to illuminate the lived experience of individuals, families, communities, and workplaces.

One Expert. Many Solutions
Dr. Turner’s research is part of a growing field of sexual wellness social work, which seeks to understand the innate embodiment, diverse expression, as well as the value of emotional and physical intimacy in the lives of persons served, especially those disadvantaged and marginalized, while recognizing how a pathologizing sex negativity can be used to silence, shame and segregate individuals, families and communities.

My Background
Originally from Kansas City, Mo, USA. I am a first-generation university graduate from a working-class background. I started my career working in disability services and continued providing clinical expertise and administrative leadership in a variety of organization including geriatric care facilities, middle school counseling, as well as addictions and recovery. Prior to moving to Australia in 2018, I ran a private psychotherapy practice specializing in sex therapy for fifteen years. In my free time I enjoy hanging with my best pal, Xander. As he is an Aussie pooch, his name is an homage to the late, Olivia Newton John - my first glimpse of Australia - and her movie Xanadu.
